Three Questions to Ask Yourself Before Buying an Inflatable Pool Slide
78Water parks can be fun and all but they can really get expensive. When you take into account all of those plane tickets, the hotel rates, and the cost of admission to the park it can be a pretty hefty price tag for just a few hours of water sliding fun. If you want to have all of that wet and wild fun without traveling very far you can buy and install an inflatable pool slide in your home.
Even if you don’t already have a pool you can get an inflatable pool and attach an inflatable pool slide to it. Inflatable pool slides are cheap alternatives to those heavy metal pool slides and you should have no fear of harm from them. If you’re committed to buying an inflatable pool slide for use in your backyard pool there are a few questions you should always ask the pool supply clerk before you buy anything.
You don’t want to run off and buy an inflatable pool slide without knowing some of the facts first. Making a purchase like an inflatable pool slide without being properly educated about the product you are buying is just asking for disaster. Here are the questions you should ask and a brief explanation on why they are important.
Is the slide compatible with your swimming pool?
This is by far the most important question for you to ask. If you don’t ask it you are liable to run home with your new inflatable pool slide only to find that your type of pool can’t handle it. You need to be careful and read all of the installation instructions to make sure that your pool will be able to make full use of the inflatable pool slide you buy.
Luckily for us there aren’t that many inflatable pool slides that require specific pool types to use. Some will ask that you have an above ground pool and some will require you to have an inground pool but other than that you’re going to find that most inflatable pool slides will work with any form of pool.
How much water does the inflatable pool slide produce?
Inflatable pool slides are like massive slip-n-slides. If you don’t already know what a slip-n-slide is you need to take a time machine back to the 80’s and watch a few television commercials but I’ll tell you anyway: a slip-n-slide is basically a giant sheet of plastic that you run water over so you can slide on it.
Water lubricates the plastic on inflatable pool slides and allows you to slide easily down them. If you purchase a slide that doesn’t have a means of lubricating itself with water you’re going to have a rough time sliding down it. You don’t want to get caught short on your slide because your skin got stuck to the plastic so make sure the inflatable pool slide you buy has enough running water gushing out of it.
Is the inflatable pool slide safe for children?
Let’s face it, you’re not buying an inflatable pool slide for yourself, you’re buying an inflatable pool slide for your children and their friends. You want to make sure that the pool slide you buy has enough safety features installed in it to protect against any accidents from happening.
As an added precaution, once you’ve installed the inflatable pool slide, make sure to closely monitor the use of the pool slide. You don’t want any children horsing around up there at the top of the slide only to plummet to their dooms at the side of the pool. If you can manage to keep everyone playing safely and using the slide properly you’re going to have a wonderful time using your new inflatable pool slide.
