If you are planning your Italian Lakes Holidays and will be there for two or more weeks, it might be a good idea to stay at a luxury Italian Villa. You will be able to get the full feel of what it would be like to live in Italy, and it will be much better than staying at a hotel. After you have rented a luxury Italian villa for a long time, you may ever consider purchasing the villa and making it your permanent residence!

There are many wonderful places in italy where you might want to consider renting or purchasing a villa. If you are going to do some exploring around Italy, here are some good Italian travel tips.

Venice during tourist season or off-season is considered to be a magical place. With its countless streets of water, you can explore the city by foot, boat, vaporetto or gondola. This beautiful city has 118 islands and 400 bridges. There are open air markets to visit, as well as the Ducal Palace, Maritime Museum, Lake Museum or the recently rebuilt La Fenice opera hall just to name a few. Renting an Italian villa here would be a great way to truly get to know Venice if you are planning on an extended stay.

If the view or scenery you want to see while staying in Italy is more of countryside, scenic view, you will see many nice Italian farm houses and villages from the hills of Tuscany.  A luxury Italian villa in Tuscany will offer the opportunity for you to enjoy a wonderful selection of fine wines, local cooking and the option to explore small villages that each offer their own treasures to visitors. In cities of Tuscany such as Florence, Lucca and Pisa you will find the best of the world of arts from the 13th and 16th centuries.

Another famous city in Italy you may want to consider renting or buying luxury Italian villas is Rome. With its great art, ancient monuments, and modern city, Rome is a living museum.  You can take walking tours through one of the greatest cities in the world or you can be driven through Rome by an English speaking driver.  You may also try to drive yourself around the city, but I wouldn't recommend it!  The driving in Rome is a bit crazy!  Piazza Navona is like no other for sitting and relaxing with a glass of wine while enjoying the warm sun and watching people pass by.  Guarantee a return trip to Rome by tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain.

Renting an Italian villa in Sicily, the land of sea, flowers and mountains, is another option to be considered.  The city of Sicily has more Greek temples intact than even Greece does!  The island of Sicily is located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, and traces of all major European and Mediterranean civilizations are still prevalent on the island today.

The capital of Tuscany, Florence, will make you swoon with its art, architecture, culture and history.  This city is much more quaint than a bigger city like Rome or Milan.  Some of the most famous arts to be found are Michelangelo's David in the Accademia, Il Duomo (an ENORMOUS cathedral), Campanile and Bapistry, the museum of the works of the Duomo. The city of Florence is known for its beautiful gardens and manufacture of leather, lace, wines, food, Forentine and paper products.  Italian villa rentals are available off season as well.  You may want to schedule your visit around a couple of their famous festivals in the month of June.

Another small city in Tuscany is Lucca, delightful and graceful this city is located near the coast north of Pisa. The birthplace of Puccini, Lucca is full of history, beauty, culture and music. Once a Roman city, Lucca is now a city people visit to see its medieval double walls and wide promenade where people can stroll or view the surrounding mountains while riding a bicycle. Some of the grandest luxury Italian villa rentals are found in Lucca. Products that can be found in Lucca include high quality olive oil and fine wines. Antiques are also found in Lucca. Lucca is also located just a 20 minute drive from the beach.

You may also consider villas at the small Tuscan town in the hills of Cortona, just minutes from the Umbrian border. Filled with the spirit of the Etruscan heritage, Cortona is a city known for its variety of cultural events and festivals throughout the year. One of the most famous is the "Under the Tuscan Sun Festival". This area if Italy is known for antiques, ceramics, Brunello wines, art and music.

No matter which city you decide to stay in during your Italian Lakes Holiday, staying in a luxury Italian villa will make your experience much, much better. Visit villages, meet Italian people, drink fine wines and enjoy local cooking. Culture and arts run rampant in the cities of Italy.
